Fekete’s well test engineering experience and knowledge is unparalleled. We analyze approximately 1000 tests per year from around the world and have analyzed in excess of 30,000 over the past 30 years. Our theoretical foundation and development is based upon the expertise of our president, Louis Mattar, who co-authored the Alberta (Canada) Government’s Energy Utilities Board manual “Gas Well Testing – Theory and Practice,” the authoritative text for well testing. Our staff continues to conduct leading edge research in the field of pressure transient analysis and have published more than 50 technical papers. Our well testing services include design, analysis, supervision and software training.
Fekete uses its F.A.S.T. WellTest™ software to simulate the reservoir flow behavior based on estimated reservoir parameters. The appropriate flow rates, flow duration and shut-in duration are determined to confirm the reservoir parameters within a reasonable time frame. Our F.A.S.T. VirtuWell™ and F.A.S.T. PVTplus™ software address operational concerns to ensure the wellbore is configured appropriately and that the necessary test equipment is in place. A step-by-step program is then prepared to ensure that the test is properly executed.
Projects
Some of the well testing services we provide include:
- Pressure transient analysis for initial reservoir pressure, damage conditions, permeability and deliverability forecasting.
- Conventional production, injection/fall-off, interference, drill stem (open & cased holes), and perforation inflow testing.
- Real-time monitoring of the test progress to determine when reservoir limits have been identified and whether the test can be terminated early.
- Combined approach using tubing performance curves to measure friction drop and liquid loading, material balance analysis, and rate transient analysis to test the well while it is flowing.
