  Reservoir Engineer

Competition: RE0204

Job Description:

  • Reservoir engineering of a wide range of projects including conventional and tight gas, primary oil depletion, waterfloods and acid gas injection.
  • Analytical determination of volumetric and dynamic reservoir parameters (e.g. through use of welltesting and/or production data analysis).
  • Construction of dynamic reservoir models.
  • Numerical simulation including history matching and production forecast scenarios.
  • Participation on research projects into shale gas, CO2 sequestration and gas hydrates.
  • Work on multiple projects in Canada and Internationally.  
  • Accountable for ensuring the engineering work is value oriented for our clients, completed effectively and efficiently for integration with other disciplines, and is technically excellent.
  • Conferencing with clients to define project objectives, timeline and resources and to present interim and final results.
  • Supervision of 1 – 3 engineering staff.
  • Report to Manager of Reservoir Engineering.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of Bachelors degree in Engineering.
  • Registration with, or qualifications for registration with, APEGGA.
  • 5+ years experience in practical reservoir engineering including 2+ years of reservoir simulation experience with demonstrated field results. Experience with compositional and/or thermal simulation is a necessity.
  • Positive and inquiring mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to define project objectives, resolve data discrepancies, evaluate effect of uncertainties, optimize simulation run-times, evaluate multiple scenarios and justify the recommended solution.
  • Time management skills – ability to handle more than one project concurrently.
  • Excellent computer skills including working knowledge and/or proficient user of Eclipse and/or CMG simulators.  
  • Demonstrated history of verbal and written report skills.

 

Petroleum Software Engineer/Technologist

Fekete is currently searching for a software development engineer/technologist with experience in the petroleum industry.

Our software provides practical and advanced solutions for reservoir engineering and production optimization projects around the world.  Each software development team consists of engineers, programmers and quality assurance staff who work in collaboration in developing the product. 

Job Description:

  • Work with your team in developing the software.
  • Assist with research and development.
  • Prepare technical documentation for coding implementation.
  • Verify technical accuracy of software calculations and assist with quality assurance.
  • Prepare technical presentations and papers.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Petroleum preferred) or Diploma in Petroleum Engineering Technology.
  • 2 + years petroleum experience.
  • Knowledge of the software development environment is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, listening and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of self-motivation.
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, strong team player capable of working in and contributing effectively to a team environment.

 

Intermediate Visual C++ Programmer

We are currently looking for both GUI and Application programmers.

Job Description:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of common modules used by our commercial software applications.
  • Work closely with the group manager in order to develop these common modules.
  • Contribute to the user interface design as well as backend programming.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
  • 2 – 5 years programming experience in Visual C++.
  • Experience with both GUI and backend programming.
  • Strong debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, listening and written.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.
  • Experience with MFC, databases and graphics is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the petroleum industry or engineering as well as strong mathematical skills is an asset.

 

Junior C++ Programmer

Job Description:

  • Participate in a series of training projects before progressing onto the development of various common modules; these modules are used by our commercial software applications.
  • Develop a solid foundation in VC++ and MFC through continual learning.
  • Technical training will be provided in the underlying reservoir engineering principles in order to improve understanding of the software you are developing.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
  • C++ experience is required; Visual C++ experience is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and reporting skills are essential; ability to communicate well in English, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.
  • Positive attitude, great work ethic with a strong desire to learn and grow.

Photocopy Technician

Job Description:

  • Reproduce well test reports, reserve evaluations, applications and training manuals for various courses.
  • Scan well tests and various other reports.
  • Read fiche and capture images into PDF files.
  • Maintain adequate supply levels and order regularly.  Supplies maintained include: General office supplies, custom office supplies and printer supplies.
  • Primary contact for printer & photocopier maintenance (includes changing toner cartridges and plotter paper).
  • Assist with reception coverage as needed (daily).
  • Assist other departments with various tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Grade 12 diploma.
  • 1-2 years office or related experience.
  • Office Administration Diploma is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to follow specific processes and instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Internet Explorer.  Intermediate knowledge of MS Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.  Training will be provided for other software programs including Nero StartSmart (data back up and recording) and Wind 2 (in-house timesheet & project program).
  • This entry level position will be ideal for a candidate who enjoys repetitive work.
